What does retrofitting actually mean?

Retrofitting comes from the Latin retro (meaning backwards) and the English fit (here meaning install or fix into place). This makes a retrofit an improvement or adjustment to a product that already exists, based on current requirements arising from the customer or the product’s technical state.

A retrofit by the Hüller Hille GmbH manufacturer’s service team sticks to the slogan Solid | Precise | Customised.

#Solid, stable basis provided by the #NBH machining centre which the customer is familiar with and thus extending the service life/operational readiness of the existing system, including with a view to protecting the environment.

#Precise systems by modernising assemblies which are relevant to quality, thereby increasing product quality and production volume.

#Customised solutions in line with customer needs to fully enable existing or new requirements with the present machining centre.

Upcoming articles will share more about this and the project. In the meantime, as you can see in the image above, we’ll get on with unloading the NBH and bringing it into position for the pending retrofit.
